About Us
Our Strategic Plan
Planning for the Future
While our time and energy over the next three years will be invested in working to achieve the plans outlined under the five strategic themes in our Strategic Plan, we continue to look to the future and lay the foundation for longer term opportunities.
We will work closely with the Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), our partner hospitals, the Mississauga Halton Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), other community partners and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to deliver the highest quality care for people living in the communities we serve
Longer Term Strategic Opportunities
Seniors Health & Wellness
Building on an already well developed focus on seniors’ health and wellness, we will maintain our strong leadership in this area by further exploring opportunities to advance excellence in seniors’ health. As our population ages, we know it will be important to be seen as a seniors friendly organization that is able to quickly and effectively respond to the varying needs of this growing segment of our population.
Our work in this area is driven by our Mission and Vision and fully supports local and provincial priorities related to seniors health and wellness.
We will:
- Develop Trillium as a seniors-friendly organization that can respond to the varying needs of citizens across the continuum
- Plan to continue the development of the West Toronto location ambulatory centre with additional infrastructure and programming to support seniors
- This could include development of a retirement home, supportive housing, seniors-focused recreational programming, additional long term facilities – everything you need for aging in one place
A Leading Academically Affiliated Specialty Hospital
Over the past ten years, Trillium Health Centre has evolved from its origins as a community hospital into one of Canada’s leading academically affiliated specialty hospitals – among the rare few located within a community setting.
Today we are a leader in the delivery of sophisticated specialty programs in advanced cardiac care, neurosciences, stroke, orthopaedics and vascular care. Our goal is to continue to grow specialty programs and services so that local residents can access these services close to home.
Exceptional tertiary level services and an affiliation with the University of Toronto continue to elevate Trillium Health Centre’s role as an academically affiliated specialty hospital, one among a rare few located within a community setting. Today we are a leader in the delivery of specialty programs and services with over 40 per cent of our patient activity dedicated to tertiary/quaternary level services.
We deliver a wide range of specialty programs. As part of this strategic plan, we will be developing specialty programs in regional vascular and neurosciences services
We will:
- Work to identify opportunities to grow specialty programs and services, as well as identify additional infrastructure requirements needed to support ongoing specialization consistent with our Mission and Vision
- Commit to continuing to expand, build and strengthen our specialty programs and services, as well as our centres of excellence
- Continue to seek out opportunities to enhance our regional specialty programs and services with an increasing focus on interventional therapeutics and specialty rehab programs and services
