Ways to Give
Personal Gift Planning
By making a gift of your assets to Trillium Health Centre,
you can lend a healing hand to the many who need it today
or reach out and touch the generations of tomorrow. Your commitment
is the vital link between the many caregivers at Trillium
Health Centre and the thousands of patients who depend on
them each year.
Let us help you find the Personal Gift Plan that best suites
your wishes.
Bequests
- By making a bequest
or other planned gift, you help ensure the continued excellence
of medical care, education and research at Trillium.
- Giving a pre-determined portion of your estate to Trillium
Health Centre Foundation will enable you to make a lasting
commitment to your health centre and leave a lifelong legacy
to the community.
- You also get the satisfaction of knowing that a tax credit
for the estate will be realized. A donation receipt for
the full value of the bequest can be applied up to 100%
of the income in the year of death and the 100% limit also
applies to any excess carried back to the prior year.
- Benefactors who include Trillium in their estate plans
provide a meaningful heritage for future generations. The
impact of this generosity, as seen in the medical progress
that results from such support, extends beyond one’s
own lifetime.
- We remember these individuals with respect and gratitude.

Charitable Remainder Trusts
- Allows you to receive a donation receipt for the present
value of the remainder interest within the year of your
gift.
- Placing the property in trust frees you from management
responsibility and removes the property from your estate,
guaranteeing your privacy.
- You may have a sum of cash, securities or real estate
that you would like to give to Trillium Health Centre Foundation,
but you need the income if provides; you could leave it
a bequest after your death, or you could make your gift
now through a Charitable Remainder Trust and continue to
receive the income for your lifetime, or a specified term
of years.
Gift Planning
- A gift is that is realized after one’s lifetime,
usually through a bequest in your will.
- It allows you to make arrangements for the future, to
benefit Trillium Health Centre in a manner that you may
not be able to achieve at present.
- By planning a gift in the future, you will help us maintain
and extend our outstanding medical services for future generations.
- There are different types of planned giving options, each
with its own benefits.
Endowments
- A minimum contribution of $25,000 is needed to establish
a Named Endowment within one of the health care areas listed
below.
- Cardiac/Vascular
- Cancer Care
- Neuroscience
- Women's and Cihldren's
- Education and Research
- General Purpose
- Future donations can be added to the named fund. The larger
the endowment gets, the more income the Foundation is able
to transfer to the hospital for patient care.
