Celebrating 38 years of community service - the Volunteers of Trillium’s Nearly New Shop is closing its doors tomorrow
The Nearly New Shop,
which is run by the Volunteers of Trillium, has been a significant
part of Trillium Health Centre since 1970. The shop resells
used clothing, housewares, jewelry and toys. It has been a
significant financial contributor to the health centre and
a dedicated and compassionate community partner for 38 years.
Originally located on Lakeshore Road West at Benson Avenue
in Port Credit, the Nearly New Shop was started as a fundraising
project by the Mississauga Hospital Auxiliary and moved to
its current site on Hurontario St. at Trillium’s Mississauga
location in 1986.
After considerable research and discussion, the Volunteers
of Trillium Board has decided to discontinue operations and
close the shop on April 19, 2008. This was a very difficult
decision and the shop will undoubtedly be fondly remembered
by many in the Trillium community.

the Nearly New Shop
Trillium Health Centre greatly appreciates the long-standing
dedication and significant contributions of the Nearly New
Shop volunteers over the years - they are valued members of
the Volunteers of Trillium team.
Members of the media are invited to join us for a celebration
of the Nearly New Shop’s long record of service to our
community.
