New Digital Mammography machines arrive at Trillium Health Centre

MISSISSAUGA/WEST TORONTO, ON – Trillium Health Centre Foundation is proud to announce that, thanks to the generosity of our community donors, it has funded the purchase of two new digital mammography machines for Trillium Health Centre. The result will be improved access and patient care for women in the community.

Trillium Health Centre Foundation will be celebrating the new machines with staff on-hand on April 27 at the Betty Wallace Women’s Health Centre at Trillium-West Toronto and on April 28 in the Digital Imaging unit at Trillium-Mississauga.

Every year, Trillium must invest millions of dollars in equipment and technology to make tangible improvements in care. The two next-generation digital mammography machines will result in more accurate scans, shorter wait times and less exposure to radiation for Trillium’s patients. The machines also improve patient comfort, reduce procedure time by about 30 per cent and yield more detailed imaging allowing for better diagnosis.

The new digital mammography machines will allow Trillium Health Centre to seamlessly track thousands of digital images and create a greater capacity for the hospital to handle a larger volume of patients in need of high-end, x-ray diagnostics.
