Trillium Health Centre chooses Salumatics to provide health records conversion services
Salumatics Inc. and Trillium Health Centre today announce an agreement that will see Salumatics provide document imaging and application/hardware hosting services as part of Trillium’s development of its electronic patient record (EPR).
“The decision to move forward with Salumatics’ outsourced conversion solution provides Trillium with a distinct advantage in the healthcare community,” said Allan Magnacca, President of Salumatics. “It allows Trillium Health Centre to focus on the thing that matters most: patient care.”
As part of a commitment to quality by design, Trillium is integrating its various electronic and paper-based information systems into a single electronic patient record. This will expedite access to critical patient health information by Trillium’s health care professionals and staff.
“Having a patient’s complete information in one place enables clinicians to make informed medical decisions faster, which is vital for patient care,” said May Chang, VP, Decision Support and Chief Financial Officer for Trillium Health Centre. “Salumatics’ work will make it possible for Trillium to integrate our paper and electronic patient records and that helps us better serve our patients.”
To accomplish this Salumatics will convert Trillium’s paper-based charts to digital images at its secure facility in Mississauga. This will provide Trillium’s health records staff, physicians and clinicians with seamless and secure access to the patient’s entire health record in electronic format.
