One hundred per cent participation from Trillium boards and executive means $1.5 million for hospital-wide priorities
Trillium Health Centre and Foundation boards and executive teams show unanimous commitment to patients and the community by supporting Giving 110% campaign
MISSISSAUGA / WEST TORONTO, ON (November 15, 2011) – Trillium Health Centre Foundation is excited to announce an incredible commitment from both the Trillium Health Centre and Foundation boards and executive teams.
Inspired by last year’s $10 million gift from the Volunteers of Trillium Health Centre, the $1.5 million from the board members and executive teams will take the Foundation even closer to its $110 million goal for hospital-wide priorities at Trillium’s Mississauga and West Toronto locations.
“It really is all about leading by example,” says Peter Willson, Chair, Trillium Health Centre Foundation Board of Directors. “We are so proud to be able to say that every single member participated. It means a lot to the staff here at Trillium, and it sends a strong message to our community, that the priorities of our campaign are essential to maintaining the high level of quality that Trillium is so proud of.”
The $1.5 million contributed by the leadership group will help revitalize patient care spaces, enhance research and education, and provide the equipment and technology the hospital’s experts need to excel.
The donations emphasize how essential the hospital’s priorities remain to the communities of Mississauga, West Toronto and beyond – especially considering Trillium Health Centre’s position as regional centre for a number of highly specialized programs, including advanced cardiac care, seniors services, neurosciences, palliative care, sexual assault and domestic violence, stroke, and vascular services.
“Every piece of equipment and technology, and every effort we make in terms of research and education, serves the single purpose of putting our patients first,” says Dr. Gopal Bhatnagar, Chief of Staff, Trillium Health Centre. “Having the latest advancements is critical in allowing for the continuous improvement of safety and patient outcomes, and that is why it is so important that we all come together to support this campaign.”
Trillium recently received the Order of Excellence from Excellence Canada, one of only two health care organizations in Canada to receive this distinction.
“The members of both boards as well as Trillium’s executive team really stepped up to the plate and proved without a doubt that they believe in the work that is done here and how important it is to maintain that level of quality for years to come,” says Steve Hoscheit, president and CEO, Trillium Health Centre Foundation.
