Statement regarding Trillium physician charged by police today
The Toronto Police Service informed Trillium Health Centre today that Dr. Kevin Speight, a physician in our emergency health system, has been arrested at his home in Toronto and charged with child pornography related offenses.
Trillium Health Centre is conducting an internal investigation and will cooperate with the police in their investigation.
Dr. Speight has been suspended by the health centre pending the outcome of our internal investigation and the police investigation and court proceedings.
Dr. Speight will not be practicing at the emergency department at Trillium-Mississauga or the urgent care centre at Trillium-West Toronto pending the conclusion of these investigations and legal processes.
