Trillium’s Diwali Fundraiser set to sparkle for OM Fracture Clinic
Mississauga/West Toronto – Trillium Health Centre Foundation’s 7th annual Diwali Fundraiser, in support of the recently-named OM Fracture Clinic, will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008.
Over the past six years, Trillium’s Diwali Fundraiser has raised more than $1.4-million towards enhancing the leading edge Fracture Clinic. This year the aim is to raise the remaining $600,000 to reach the $2-million Diwali fundraising goal.
| WHAT: | Trillium Health Centre Foundation’s 7th Annual Diwali Fundraiser in support of the OM Fracture Clinic |
| WHEN: | Friday, October 17, 2008 6:30 p.m |
| WHERE: | Pearson Convention Center 2638 Steeles Ave. E., Brampton |
Join emcee Mohit Rajhans, host of OMNI’s Bollywood Boulevard, and over 800 guests for our celebration of “Diwali”, the South Asian Festival of Lights, in support of the Trillium Health Centre Foundation. This year’s gala features dazzling décor, sumptuous food, spectacular entertainment by Bollywood Step Dance troupe - direct from Los Angeles, an indoor fireworks display and dancing to the rhythms of DJ Jiten.
Diwali Co-Chairs, Dr. Jaya Chanchlani, Vinod Patel and Deepak Ruparell, and Dr. Vir Sennik, event founder and orthopaedic surgeon at the Fracture Clinic, are available for pre-event interviews.
Celebrating Karwa (or Karva) Chauth
This year’s Karwa Chauth celebration is taking place on the same day as our Diwali Fundraiser. Karwa Chauth is a Hindu festival celebrated by couples. A married woman observes an all day fast for the health and long life of her husband and family, then breaks her fast once she has seen the moon at dusk.
To accommodate our guests who wish to celebrate Karwa Chauth, we have made special arrangements for you to see the Moon Darshan on the grounds of Pearson Convention Center. A vegetarian dinner will be provided late into the evening for those who are fasting.
To purchase tickets or make a donation towards the OM Fracture Clinic, contact Dipti Rach at 905-848-7575 ext. 2930 or drach@thc.on.ca.
