Double your donation to support Trillium Health Centre Foundation’s Diwali Fundraiser
9th Annual South Asian ‘Festival of Lights’ gala is SOLD OUT - but you can get into the Diwali spirit and double your donation by giving now
Mississauga/West Toronto – Thanks to outstanding support and generosity from our community, Trillium Health Centre Foundation’s Diwali Fundraiser celebration is sold out.
Over 1,000 people will attend this year’s spectacular Trillium Diwali Fundraiser, the largest event of its kind in Canada, on October 22.
For people who want to support seniors health care and get into the festival spirit of Diwali early, there is still time to make a donation. And, for a limited time, you can double your donation power. A generous donor has stepped forward who will match every online donation dollar for dollar.
| WHAT: | Trillium Health Centre Foundation 9th Annual Diwali Fundraiser supporting the revitalization of Trillium’s Endoscopy Suites |

Generous sponsors come through for Seniors’ Health and Wellness
In addition to the anonymous patron who offered to match donations, several individual and corporate sponsors are supporting Diwali 2010. This year’s Diamond Sponsor is Medtronic of Canada Limited.
Trillium Health Centre Foundation also acknowledges the generosity of our gold and bronze sponsors, cash donors, in-kind sponsors and contributors of items for our Silent Auction, including Air Canada & Skylink Group of Companies who donated two tickets anywhere Air Canada flies worldwide.
Support Endoscopy Services at Trillium Health Centre
Proceeds from this year’s event support an essential service at Trillium Health Centre - endoscopy, which provides diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for a range of conditions.
Endoscopy is used to literally “see inside” the body without the need for large incisions. Doctors use an endoscope – a long thin, flexible tube with a light and a video camera - to examine the digestive and respiratory organs and tissues and to retrieve samples for biopsy.
As we age, we are at increased risk for certain kinds of cancer, including colon, liver and pancreatic cancer. Experts recommend everyone over age 50 receive an annual colonoscopy diagnostic test.
Trillium aims to raise a total of $2 million over the next three years to support a major renovation and new equipment for its Endoscopy Suites.
Diwali Co-Chairs available for pre-event interviews
Diwali 2010 Co-Chairs Dr. Inderbir (Bob) Singh, Cardiologist, Trillium Health Centre and Ash Singh, President, Equity Builders Inc., and Dr. William McMullen, Chief of Endoscopy, Trillium Health Centre, are available for pre-event interviews.
