Ruby Brown joins Trillium Health Centre as new Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
MISSISSAUGA / WEST TORONTO, ON – Janet Davidson, O.C., Trillium Health Centre’s president and chief executive officer is pleased to announce that Ruby Brown has joined the organization as its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer effective October 14, 2009.
Brown is a strong leader with over 25 years experience across various health care sectors, including acute, long-term care, community, and mental health in Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. She is a registered nurse and holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Alberta.
“Ruby Brown is an experienced leader who brings strong operational, policy and strategic understanding of the health care system,” says Janet Davidson. “Her solid knowledge of regional systems that have experienced transformation will be invaluable to Trillium as we work with the Mississauga-Halton LHIN and our hospital partners to expand the regional integration of programs and services to better meet and anticipate community needs.”
Brown has held leadership positions in all sectors of the health-care system – from acute academic to community and long-term care. Her roles included: Senior Operating Officer with Vancouver Coastal Health Region; Chief Operating Officer in the North Okanagan Health Region; Director of Planning and Operations with the University of Alberta Hospital, Capital Health Region in Edmonton; and, most recently, Chief Transition Officer and Vice President with the Alberta Mental Health Board.
“I am very excited to be joining the Trillium Health Centre team and to be working with its outstanding people here,” says Brown who is relocating from Edmonton to Mississauga with her family. “In Western Canada we heard a lot about Trillium’s innovative approaches to patient care, and I am already seeing that passion for quality and excellence in action.”
