Calling all heroes: Trillium Health Centre Foundation shines the “Hero signal” as a call for everyday heroes

Community encouraged to tweet sightings of the “Hero signal” and share stories of health care heroism for a chance to win a grand prize

MISSISSAUGA / WEST TORONTO, ON (October 20, 2011) – Local community members in the Mississauga and West Toronto area will experience the “Hero signal” tonight. It is Trillium Health Centre Foundation’s reminder to the community to share their stories of heroism to honour those individuals who make an impact on our health care every day.
A newly-created Giving 110% Heroes website provides the community with an outlet to share incredible stories of local, everyday heroes who have made a difference in our health care. In addition to recognizing these heroes, a special prize is available for those who share their story. Submissions will be entered into a draw to win the grand prize of free Tim Hortons coffee for a year. Those who tweet their Hero signal sightings have a chance to win a Tim Hortons gift card.
