Learn@Trillium - Trillium Health Centre unveils its new Learning Centre

Patients and staff will benefit from exciting new education and training facilities

Trillium Health Centre is opening its new Learning Centre tomorrow as part of its Learn@Work Week* activities.

Trillium’s new Learning Centre features a clinical learning laboratory, the Brayley Health Sciences Library, a computer training room and a 200-seat auditorium. The Learning Centre's flexible knowledge infrastructure will support ongoing training and education for Trillium clinicians, physicians, volunteers, and medical residents.

Trillium is committed to being an innovative, academically-affiliated organization that fosters a culture of knowledge and learning for its staff, physicians and volunteers.  The opening of the new Learning Centre reflects this commitment and supports the growing needs of health care providers for the latest medical training and information.

The official program will include remarks by Anne Sado, Chair, Trillium Health Centre Board of Directors and President of George Brown College, Janet Davidson, O.C., President and CEO, Trillium Health Centre. 

Recipients of the Merritt Henderson Student Bursary, whose parents are Trillium employees, will be honoured and guests will have a chance to tour the new Learning Centre facilities.

Following the tours, Trillium will host, as part of its Learn@Work Week activities, a Pebble Project Information Session.  Trillium has joined the “Pebble Project®”, an initiative of The Center for Health Design a leading U.S. based research and advocacy organization of healthcare and design professionals seeking to improve the quality of health care through building architecture and design.

Trillium’s membership in the Pebble Project involves undertaking a major research project to measure a number of key outcomes, including patient outcomes, staff outcomes and efficiencies to evaluate the impact of evidence-based design features and processes on the quality of patient care in the new inpatient wing at Trillium-Mississauga.

* Trillium’s Learn@Work Week program is conducted in conjunction with The Canadian Society for Training and Development’s Learn@Work Week, a national initiative promoting the importance of workplace learning and performance.
