Trillium Health Centre Makes National Top 100 Employer List

For the fourth year in a row, Trillium Health Centre has received recognition as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers in a book authored by best-selling career author Richard Yerema and published by Mediacorp Canada Inc.

The 800-bed hospital, with sites in Mississauga and Etobicoke, was one of 6,000 employers, including not-for-profit groups, government agencies and private-sector companies from across Canada, invited to provide detailed information about its employee benefits, working conditions and overall human resources programs.

In choosing the finalists, Yerema and his team considered how each employer compared to others in its industry. According to Yerema, the organizations selected are the best in their classes – and they get there because they want not just to woo but to keep the best employees. The common thread that runs through all the finalists is that each is a leader in its industry and employers chosen as this year’s Top 100 stand out from others in their field in attracting and retaining quality employees.

“To have achieved the honour of being among Canada’s Top 100 Employers for the fourth consecutive year is remarkable,” says Ken White, President and CEO, Trillium Health Centre. “It reinforces what we already know – that the success and good health of any organization rests largely with its workforce. One of the most important things we can do is support, invest in and empower those individuals to be the best that they can be.” White attributes Trillium’s success in recruiting and retaining top notch employees and physicians to an innovative and forward-thinking benefits and learning program.

The 2004 edition of Canada’s Top 100 Employers “ is recognized as a reliable guide for discovering best practices in recruitment and retention and has become the gold standard for informative information on the national’s best places to work.
