For Our Patients
During Your Hospital Stay
Inpatient Meals
Unless you have special diet needs, you will be served meals from the standard patient menu. If you follow a special diet (i.e. vegetarian, Halal or Kosher), be sure to let us know when you arrive or speak with your nurse.
Meals are served at approximately 8:00 a.m., 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. daily. If you have any questions or concerns about your meals, please speak with your caregiver.
Telephones
From bedside telephones, for local calls, Dial 9 first, then the Area Code + Number. For long distance calls, Dial 3 - 0 - Area Code + Number (Calling Card, Collect, or Third Party Billing). Note: Calling Cards are available in the Hasty Market Trillium Health Centre - Mississauga in several denominations.
To allow for quiet time, patient telephones are unable to receive calls between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Phones with volume control are available upon request. Call Communications at ext. 7555 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays. The current daily telephone charge is $2.25 (This charge is subject to change.)
Television
Hospitality Network provides television rentals. Call ext. 2350 to place your rental order or complete Hospitality Network's Patient Order Form, available on each patient unit.

If you wish to send mail while you are a patient at Trillium, you can purchase stamps in our hospital Gift Shop in the Main Lobby. A mailbox is located just outside the Main Entrance at Trillium - Mississauga.

Interpreter Services
Trillium serves a diverse community of people with many different languages and cultures. Patients or family members who need help communicating with caregivers should first ask for help from our in-house, trained and certified Health Care Interpreters available for Cantonese, Mandarin, Polish, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi. Many of our staff speak different languages and they can also assist you. You may also wish to have a family member or friend present to help with communication when your doctor or specialist visits.
Spiritual Care (Chaplaincy)
You can request a visit from the Chaplain by notifying your nurse or leaving a message on the Chaplain's voice mail at ext. 7293 (Trillium - Mississauga). For more information about Spiritual & Religious Care, click here .
Hair Salon
The Hair Salon (Trillium - Mississauga) is located on the 3rd Floor (near Elevator A). Hours are: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. To book an appointment once you are in hospital, call ext. 7570. Please check with your nurse before making an appointment.
Housekeeping and Maintenance
Our housekeeping, maintenance and food services staff have the important job of keeping the hospital clean and making your stay as comfortable and as pleasant as possible. Please let them know if you have any special requests.
