14 Hour Urgent Care Centre

The Urgent Care Centre provides patients access to health care when their family doctor is unavailable for the treatment of minor health ailments that need to be treated urgently, but do not need admission to hospital.
Helping Lower Wait Times
Thousands of patients are seen in Emergency Departments every year with ailments that can effectively be treated in an urgent care setting. The Urgent Care Centre offers patients an alternative to potentially long waits in the emergency department. Studies show that more than 46% of cases seen in the emergency department can effectively be handled in Trillium's Urgent Care Centre.
Examples of conditions seen in the Urgent Care Centre include:
- Sore throat, earache, cough, fever
- Limb injuries (possible fractures or dislocations)
- Cuts
- Burns
- Insect bites, allergies
- Skin rashes, infections
- Eye complaints or injuries
- Workplace injuries
The Urgent Care Centre sees nearly 40,000 patients annually, 25% of them children. Its goal is to assess, treat, and/or plan for a patient's care within 60 to 90 minutes following arrival
Patients who arrive at Trillium - West Toronto with serious health problems are stabilized and transferred to the Emergency Centre at Trillium - Mississauga.
Expert Staff
Trillium's Urgent Care Centre is the first urgent care facility in the west end of Greater Toronto and is staffed by a highly skilled and experienced team of emergency doctors and nurses. In fact, Trillium's Emergency physicians and nurses rotate between the Emergency Care Centre and the Urgent Care Centre.
A state-of-the-art diagnostic centre featuring CT Scan, Ultrasound, X-ray, and Nuclear Medicine equipment as well as on-site laboratory services provide quick and efficient test results that aid in making timely clinical decisions.
