Intensive Care
Unit - Mississauga
The ICU provides comprehensive care
to critically ill patients who require continuous monitoring,
assessment, evaluation and treatment of life threatening conditions
and who are at risk of serious complications. The unit also
provides support for the families of critically ill patients.
The unit is specially designed to provide intensive care to:
- General medical patients
- Surgical patients
- Neurosurgical patients
Patients in the
Intensive Care Unit enjoy huge windows that provide a view
of the outdoors and help them feel less isolated. Sliding
glass doors on inpatient and treatment rooms ensure staff
can observe patients while giving them some privacy. Spacious
corridors, attractive décor and comfortable furniture
soften the 'high tech' clinical environment.
For family members of patients, Trillium
provides two courtyards just outside the units, sleepover
rooms, washrooms, and waiting areas to make family members
more comfortable.
