Betty and Buster Lockwood Cancer Detection
and Treatment Centre
The Betty and Buster Lockwood Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre provides outpatient services to patients with cancer and blood disorders.
Outstanding People
Our outstanding team of oncologists, hematologists, and support staff as well as specialized oncology nurses, pharmacists, dietitians and social workers, provides the best possible treatment for your condition. Our dedicated volunteers make your visits with the clinic as comfortable as possible.
Your Oncologist
You will first meet your oncologist at the Betty and Buster Lockwood Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre. At your first appointment you and your oncologist will discuss your choices for treatment.
Treatment Options
If you require cancer drugs then you will receive this treatment at the clinic during future appointments. If you require radiation, an appointment will be scheduled for you to see a radiation oncologist at the oncology clinic. The radiation treatment is planned and given at Credit Valley Hospital. Participation in a clinical trial may also be offered to you as a treatment option.
Managing Your Treatment
To help manage your treatment the oncology nurses and pharmacists within the clinic will teach you detailed information about your prescribed medications and side effects. The dietitian is available to assist and support you to keep up your optimal nutrition. The social worker is available to provide emotional support and access to community and/or financial resources.
