Cancer Detection and Treatment
Outstanding People – Your Oncology Team
Clerical staff greet you and ask important questions to update your health care record. They coordinate and book appointments and tests. The clerical staff also direct you once you arrive to the clinic.
Nurses will ask you questions about how you are feeling and help you manage your symptoms both in the clinic and at home. The nurses administer cancer drugs at the clinic. Clinic nurses also arrange for nurses to assist you in your home.
Oncologists are doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating cancer. Our oncologists also look after non-cancer blood disorders.
Pharmacists work with the team to ensure safe use and dispensing of your medications.
Radiation Oncologists are specially trained doctors who treat cancer with radiation.
Registered Dietitians are experts in food and nutrition who provide individualized nutrition assessment and counseling. Dietitians can help you manage various treatment side effects, including nausea, taste changes, constipation and diarrhea.
Social workers provide counseling and information in regards to financial and community resources available.
Volunteers are committed members of the team who are present to enhance your experience at Trillium Health Centre.
