Pulmonary Function Laboratory - Mississauga and West Toronto
The lab provides the following services to patients with any type of lung disease such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema:
- Pre-op lung function testing
- Adult and Paediatric Pulmonary Function Testing
- Cardio-pulmonary stress testing
- Methacholine Challenge Testing
- Ambulatory Oxygen Assessments
- Arterial Blood Gas Analysis
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - Breathing Well Program
For patients with asthma, Trillium's Asthma Education Centre offers patients and their families a patient focused team approach to asthma management. The goal is to assist the patient in becoming proactive in the management of their asthma. A Registered Nurse and a Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner assess patients breathing and work with patients and their physicians to identify personal triggers, improve medication techniques and recognize early warning signs. A personal action plan is also developed to facilitate improved asthma management.
