Community Mental
Health Services offers services for adult residents (over
age 16) of Mississauga who have either a diagnosed mental
illness or significant symptoms of mental illness. Non-residents
must have a physician on staff at Trillium to be eligible
to receive services.
Services Provided: Individual, couple and
group counselling, and psychiatric consultation. For couple
counselling, one member must have a diagnosed mental illness.
Individual counselling is provided for up to 20 sessions.
A variety of day and evening groups are offered on specific
topics i.e. stress management, depression, self-esteem. The
menu program is a series of open-ended groups designed to
improve the client's ability to function. The duration of
most groups is eight to 12 sessions. Services are offered
during the day and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Referral Process: Self and professional referrals
accepted. Referrals to the group menu program need to attend
an orientation session.

Psychological Services
Specialized psychological
assessment and treatment services are available to adults
(over age 18) with a physician’s referral. Non-residents
of the catchment area of Trillium must have a physician on
staff. Individuals may be referred for psychological
assessment to assist in better understanding the nature of
their mental health problems, and in making decisions about
diagnosis and treatment planning. Psychology also provides
treatment for two specific disorders: Panic Disorder/Agoraphobia
and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
