Peel Geriatric Mental Health Services - Mississauga
Peel Geriatric Mental Health Services offers consultation
on the psychiatric and psycho-social conditions and needs
of elderly clients by means of a psychogeriatric assessment.
Consultation is provided to the client, the family physician,
other physicians and professional health care services, as
appropriate. These consultations provide interpretation of
the assessment results, information about treatment options
and individualized counseling on care approaches. The service
also provides educational presentations to long term care
facilities, community-based professional agencies and other
audiences. Clients must be residents of Peel Region and there
must be evidence that the client is suffering from a psychiatric
condition associated with mid to late aging.
Referral: Clients must be referred through a family
physician or specialist.
