Regional Stroke Centre
The Regional Stroke Centre at Trillium plays a large part
in ensuring stroke patients get the best stroke treatment
as quickly as possible. The Centre includes:
- The Regional Secondary
Stroke Prevention Clinic
- An Acute Stroke Response Team on call 24 hours a day/
seven days a week. Team members are specially trained to
quickly identify and treat stroke patients and are skilled
at providing tPA (thrombolytic therapy) to patients who
have experienced an ischemic stroke (minor stroke).
- An experienced inpatient stroke team, on-site neurological,
neurosurgical, and neuro-interventional radiology expertise
and links to inpatient and community based rehabilitation
services.
