This 30-bed rehabilitation unit provides short-term rehabilitative
care for orthopaedic, medical, surgical and cardiology patients.
Patient care on this unit is focused on restoring and optimizing
the individual's functional independence and health. High
performance interdisciplinary teams support patient and family-centred
care in an environment that encourages patient and family
participation in the care provided.
Approximately 950 patients are cared for annually with an
average length of stay of ten days. The interdisciplinary
team consists of physicians, nurses, clerical staff and allied
health professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational
therapists, occupational/physiotherapy assistants, and social
workers. The team is supported by a Clinical Nurse Specialist,
and Clinical Educators.
