Kingsway Financial Spine Centre

Trillium Health Centre - West Toronto

Back pain is the most common cause of disability in persons under the age of 45, affecting up to 90 per cent of the Canadian population. This state-of-the-art open-access ambulatory centre is the most comprehensive facility of its kind in Canada. Named for Kingsway Financial Services which made a $3-million contribution towards its establishment, the Centre offers diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and surgery to patients suffering from acute disorders related to the spine.

The Centre offers customized plans of care for each patient based on early diagnosis, timely and dedicated access to specialized tests and appropriate health care professionals, and rehabilitation of acute spine conditions. Designated, in-house slots for the Centre’s patients help to reduce wait times for MRIs, CT Scans and X-rays, speeding diagnosis and treatment.  With a focus on health promotion and prevention of spine and back disorders, an area dedicated to back care education and wellness for clients and their families is also offered.

Spine Centre Team

This is the only program in Canada where orthopaedic and neurosurgeons work together, along with a dedicated rehabilitation team. Team members include family physicians with a spine specialty, a neurologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, chiropractor, kinesiologist, psychologist, chiropractor and massage therapist. A neurointerventional radiologist and an anaesthetist (pain control) are consulted as required.
