Services - Treatment
We treat clients
who have bone, joint or soft tissue injuries and diseases
of the hand and/or upper extremity.
To ensure the best possible service and outcomes, we use an
interdisciplinary team model. We are dedicated to evidence-based
practice and continuous learning to provide optimal outcomes
for all our clients.
Our highly experienced staff include Certified Hand Therapists
who have obtained additional qualifications through The
Hand Therapy Certification Commission.
Following comprehensive assessment, an individualized treatment
plan is established with the client.
If you are coming for treatment, please:
- Arrive on time for your appointment
- Bring your health card
- Bring your reading glasses (there may be forms to complete)
At your first appointment,
the therapist will:
- Talk with you about your hand/wrist
- Examine your hand/wrist
- Take measurements
- Discuss what you want to accomplish by coming to therapy
- Prescribe a home treatment program as necessary
In addition to your
home treatment program, you may attend therapy sessions. Your
therapist will work with you to set up a treatment program
to accomplish your recovery goals. Some of your treatments
may be given or supervised by specially trained Occupational/Physiotherapist
Assistants.
