WSIB Specialty Program - Aesthetic Prosthesis Assessment and Fittings

Trillium’s WSIB Specialty Hand Program assesses suitability and readiness for provision of cosmetic prostheses for those individuals who have had finger/hand amputations. Aesthetic finger prostheses are artificial silicone fabrications that are custom colour matched to the client’s skin tone. The purpose of these prostheses is to provide the client with a greater level of comfort and self-confidence when interacting with other people. If a client is a suitable candidate, they are referred to an outside service provider for fabrication. Fittings and follow-up are completed by hand therapists in the WSIB Specialty Hand Program.
