Trillium Health Centre offers a broad range of rehabilitation services supporting both inpatient and outpatient services.

Physiotherapists and Physical Therapy Assistants assess and treat clients with a variety of musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory or neurological conditions, improving and maintaining functional independence and physical performance, preventing and managing pain, physical impairments, disabilities and limits to participation, and promotion of fitness, health and wellness. They are active members of teams in each of the Health Systems.

Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants assist individuals in developing or maintaining life roles and activities at home and in the community, using a variety of assessment and treatment techniques. They provide services to people whose ability to function in everyday living has been disrupted by physical illness or injury, developmental problems, the aging process, mental illness or emotional problems. They work in all Health Systems

Speech-Language Pathologists offer a wide range of services from paediatric to geriatric. They can be found working in a variety of inpatient and outpatient services for adults with acquired, medically-based speech, language, voice, swallowing and cognitive communication disorders, as well as supporting children through the Paediatric Outpatient Services Program and the Peel Pre-School Speech and Language Initiative. A Communicative Disorders Assistant provides patient therapy as well as technical support.

Therapeutic Recreationists utilize treatment, education and recreation participation to enable persons with physical, cognitive, emotional and/or social limitations to acquire and/or maintain the skills, knowledge and behaviours that will allow them to enjoy their leisure optimally. Trillium’s Therapeutic Recreationists practice in the Medicine Health System, on the rehabilitation units, in Complex Continuing Care, Inpatient Geriatric Mental Health and in the Rehabilitation Day Hospital.

Chiropodists assess and treat foot ailments or disorders using therapeutic and orthotic means. The Chiropody Clinic focuses on management of the high-risk foot such as in Type 1 Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Peripheral Vascular Disease, chronic pathological nail and skin conditions and biomechanical and congenital foot disorders.
