Therapeutic Recreation - Rehabilitation Services
Trillium's Therapeutic Recreationists strive to improve patients' quality of life both in hospital and beyond. Using a variety of tools and techniques the team works with patients who have suffered a stroke, brain injury, or aneurysm to help them regain past skills or develop new ones.
A multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, nurses, social workers and of course therapeutic recreationists determine who would benefit from therapeutic recreation. Patients' interests and barriers to participation are assessed, and evaluations on their current situation and future potential are made.
Patients are assisted in regaining or developing skills to participate in leisure activities. Connections to appropriate leisure activities and community programs are made whenever possible.
