Centre - Mississauga
Pre-Op Centre
Prior to coming
to Trillium for major surgery, patients will be asked to visit
the hospital's Pre-Op Centre. Here, patients may undergo pre-op
testing including bloodwork, ECG, or chest x-rays. Pre-Op
Nursing Assessments are also conducted and include patient
education in post-operative pain management, how to walk with
a walker, or to how to modify their home in preparation for
discharge following surgery. Patients may also meet with the
anaesthesiologist in the Anaesthesia Clinic to discuss options
in anaesthetic, when they will receive it, and the recovery
period following receiving an anaesthetic. The Pre-Op Centre
at Trillium - Mississauga is located on the 2nd Floor, and
sees more than 9,700 patients annually.
