Trillium's Surgicentre
is the largest day surgery centre in North America. The 23,000
square foot facility features eight operating rooms for day
surgery procedures, a post anaesthetic care unit, 20 stretcher
bays, and a beautiful recliner lounge for the final stage
of recovery. Added features include private rooms for interviewing
patients, dedicated waiting rooms for family members, special
waiting room areas for patients going to operating rooms,
and a playroom for young children.
Invasive procedures
that require a general anaesthetic are handled in the Surgicentre.
The facility has the capacity to perform 30,000 surgical day
procedures annually. It is currently handling about
12,000 surgical procedures and more than 3,000 cataract surgeries
each year in its Eye Centre.
