The Asthma Education Centre offers children and their families
information to become more proactive in monitoring and controlling
asthma. Staffed by a Registered Nurse and Respiratory Therapist,
it works together with the doctor and the child to help the
child and his/her family become more proactive in monitoring
and controlling his/her asthma. The child will undergo a complete
evaluation and assessment, take a breathing test before and
after taking their medication, receive individual counselling
on asthma management and receive helpful information to gain
a better understanding of their asthma. This service requires
a referral from a family doctor or specialist. Children aged
12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
