Women's Services
Pre and Post Natal Programs
Phone: 905-848-7653
A Pre-Natal Assessment occurs at 14-16
weeks gestation. Women are given information regarding their
pregnancy, diet, community resources and what to expect during
their hospital stay. Rhogam injections, at 28 weeks gestation,
are done in this Clinic. Referrals are made as required to
nutritional counselling, spiritual care, social work, public
health and community agencies.
A Special Pregnancy Clinic offers care closer to home for
those women requiring a high risk consultation with a perinatologist.
This is a collaborative practice model with obstetricians
at Trillium Health Centre and Mount Sinai Hospital.
The Post Natal Support Centre provides assessment and support
for women and newborns following discharge from the hospital.
This is a joint program with Peel Public Health Nurses and
Trillium Health Centre Registered Nurses with lactation consultant
certification. Mothers who have experienced a Caesarian birth
may have their staples removed in the Centre.
