Construction Update – Progress Report - August 4, 2008

Mississauga New Wing

Curtain wall installation is ongoing on the south side of the new inpatient wing up to the fifth floor. Exterior masonry work is now well advanced, while workers have begun interior masonry at the elevator shafts and lobby areas. Boarding work is also ongoing and has progressed to the fourth level.

Mississauga Renovations

Ceiling grid installation is now complete and light fixtures are in place in the main floor Ultrasound area. Flooring has been installed and equipment installation is underway.

Work on the raised roof portion of the new CSOR is in progress with the removal of the concrete roof slab. Mechanical and electrical work in the walls continues inside. The new air handling unit has been placed on the roof and related mechanical work is in progress.

West Toronto

The south entrance vestibule doors are now in place, while hardware is being installed. The electronic whiteboard is now in place at the nursing station in the new Urgent Care Centre. Glazing and waterproofing of the new skylight is ongoing.

Glazing of exterior curtain wall is ongoing in the new Betty and Buster Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre. Ceiling and walls are being painted, while installation of doors and hardware, finishing around the new elevator doors, and installation of vinyl flooring and the exterior wood deck are all underway. 

Glazing of exterior and interior curtain wall is ongoing in the Trillium Way area.  Installations of light fixtures and electrical devices, the radiant heating panel and epoxy terrazzo floor is well underway. The glass balustrade on the feature staircase is also in progress.
