Redevelopment at Trillium
Construction Update
– Progress Report - December 1, 2007
Mississauga New
Wing
Construction has
reached the fifth level of the new inpatient wing with form
work and reinforcing installations ongoing to the west section
of the floor slab. Columns and shearwalls have been formed,
reinforced and poured from the fourth to fifth level complete.
New walls are being formed for the service tunnel section
to connect the boiler house to the new wing. Existing electrical
and mechanical services are being maintained, while plans
to disconnect and reconnect electrical services are underway.
Mechanical and electrical rough-in work continues on the ground
and main floors as well as on portions of the second level
of the new inpatient wing. Contractors anticipate reaching
the top floor and final slab pour in late January or early
February.
Mississauga Renovations
The second floor
roof over the Cath Lab is nearing completion. Membrane protection
and minor adjustments will be completed after the rooftop
air handling unit has been installed. The skylight over the
reception area has been installed.
The new rooftop air handling unit will be delivered in early
December and will be lifted by crane. Minor traffic disruption
along the north access road (from the Family Care Centre to
Confederation Parkway) can be expected.
Mechanical and electrical rough-ins in the second and main
floor walls and ceiling are nearing completion. Wall and ceiling
framing work is complete and wall boarding is nearing completion.
A portion of the main floor corridor between the Main Entrance
and the Family Care Centre was closed to enable services work
above the ceiling and renovation of the corridor. The corridor
will reopen in early December.
West Toronto
Mechanical and electrical
rough-in work on the main floor for the Urgent Care Centre
and South entrance is continuing.
Drywall finishing on the second floor’s Cancer Detection
& Treatment continues, while the mechanical room air handling
unit installation and ductwork is in progress.
Steelwork is being erected for the Trillium Way and the final
caisson for the new Urgent Care Centre entrance canopy is
being installed.
Your support and cooperation are much appreciated during this
time.
