Redevelopment at Trillium

Construction Update – Progress Report - January 2, 2008

Mississauga New Wing

Construction has reached the sixth level of the new wing with columns and shear walls being made on the sixth floor.

The new walls made for the service tunnel section that connect the boiler house to the new wing have been completed. The new boiler has been delivered and is currently being installed. On the main and second levels, the framing of interior partitions are in progress.

Mechanical work continues on the ground, main, and second levels while plumbing and duct work are being installed up to the second level.

Electrical work continues on the ground, main, second and third levels. The backbone for the main distribution is being installed up to the third level.

Work on the building envelope is underway. Block back-up is progressing along the north elevation of the second level. The top floor and final slab pour is targeted for late January or early February.

Mississauga Renovations

The Cath Lab roof top air handling unit has been delivered and installation is now in progress.

Mechanical and electrical rough-ins in the second floor walls and ceilings are nearing completion. Completed walls have been prime painted and flooring preparation work is in progress. The new OR Locker Rooms, which will be turned over for occupancy in late January are nearly completed and the new lockers will be delivered in the near future.

On the main floor; mechanical and electrical rough-in in walls have been completed. All walls and ceilings are completed and painted with new flooring installed throughout. Modular furniture installation is in progress as well as commissioning of new systems. The main floor Fracture Clinic area is scheduled to be handed over for occupancy in late January.

West Toronto

Structural steel framing is well advanced on the Trillium Way and second floor Cancer Treatment Centre. Installation of the steel floor decking is in progress on the second floor and third floor mechanical penthouse.

T-bar ceiling and finished flooring installation is in progress on existing second floor area.
Steel framing is completed for new the floor area in the Cancer Detection and Treatment area over the Surgicentre and into the Trillium Way.

Ceiling bulkhead framing and gypsum board installation is in progress in the area adjacent to the Urgent Care Centre. Mechanical and electrical rough-in work is well advanced on the existing floor area. Slab on grade is also in place for the new south entrance.
