Construction Update
– Progress Report - March 3, 2008
Mississauga New
Wing
Curtain wall installation
for the new inpatient wing has begun. The penthouse will be
completed following the installation of mechanical and electrical
equipment on March 4th, 5th, and 6th. Mechanical and electrical
rough-ins continue through to the 4th floor.
Mississauga Renovations
Finishing work,
including flooring, painting and suspended ceilings, is almost
completed on the second floor new Cath Lab area. Equipment,
architectural fitment installation and hardware work is in
progress, while owner training of systems is also underway.
The new Cath Lab is scheduled for turnover on March 14th and
occupancy plans are being developed.
Construction of the new Cardiovascular Operating Room and
adjacent support areas have begun. Hoarding installation and
mirror removals are in progress.
The Fracture Clinic and Diagnostic Imaging offices have moved
to their new space. Demolition work in their former location

West Toronto
The contractor has
extended hording (temporary walls) in the Urgent Care Centre
area to include the entire waiting area while mechanical and
electrical rough-ins are underway. Painting in this area will
begin in early March.
Painting and millwork installation is in progress on the second
floor new Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre. Mechanical
and electrical rough-ins are underway. Exterior wall and parapet
framing is also in progress before the installation of new
roofing and exterior wall finish takes place.
Work in the new Trillium Way area is progressing. Existing
terrazzo floor surfaces have been removed and new concrete
topping is being installed. Exterior wall and parapet framing
is also in progress in preparation for the new roofing and
exterior wall finish. Mechanical and electrical rough-ins
are well advanced in main floor ancillary area.
