Construction Update
– Progress Report - May 5, 2008
Mississauga New
Wing
Curtain wall installation
continues to proceed on the north face of the building. Masonry
(brick facade) is nearing completion on the northwest corner.
Drywall installation to walls on the main floor has begun.
Mechanical and electrical work continues on through to sixth
floor.
Mississauga Renovations
Phase Two renovations
on the main floor continue with mechanical and electrical
work in the Ultrasound area. Drilling to the underside of
the concrete floor is underway. Stud framing of walls is in
progress and nearing completion, while drywall installation
work will soon begin.
Phase One work on the second floor cardiovascular operating
room is also in progress with removal of the floor topping.
Contractors are also working to construct temporary waterproof
hoarding in preparation for the roof slab removal.
West Toronto
Work in and around
the new Urgent Care Centre and south entrance continues to
move ahead. Construction of new exterior sidewalks and curbs
began last week, while erection of the glass canopy over the
south entrance is underway. Window installation and wall and
ceiling framing is in progress in new waiting room, while
sheet floor installation has begun in the Urgent Care Centre
treatment area.
Wall framing continues for the new Betty and Buster Lockwood
Cancer Detection and Treatment Centre on the second floor.
Exterior wall finish is in progress, while mechanical and
electrical work is ongoing.
High span curtain wall installation continues on the east
and west elevations of the new Trillium Way. Mechanical and
electrical work is in progress in the high ceiling area. Drywall
boarding is in now progress in the surgical ancillary area.
