Construction Update – Progress Report - November 3, 2008

Mississauga New Wing

Curtain wall deficiency correction work is underway, while finishes have begun in the new wing.  Finishing work consists of millwork installations on the second and third floors, as well as flooring and equipment installations up to the third floor. 

The tie in of the new emergency generator was successfully completed on October 25, 2008 and normal power service is now available in new wing.

Mississauga Renovations

The new raised roof over the CSOR is now complete. Inside finishing work in the area is in progress, including ceiling work, paint priming of walls and flooring preparation work.

Mechanical and electrical finishing work is also underway.  Suspended acoustical panels are being installed on the second floor, while wall finishing work and flooring preparation continues.

The main floor Ultrasound area is now complete and the department has opened in their new space.

West Toronto

Demolition of the existing south entrance is now complete.  Demolition work within the Urgent Care Centre Phase Two area is also complete and construction of the new space is underway.

Exterior landscaping work outside the east entrance and Trillium Way was completed in late October, as was the installation of interior greenery.
