Construction Update

Mississauga New
Wing
The exterior construction man hoist was dismantled last month, facilitating the completion of the south side curtain wall. The final two sections of curtain wall will be completed in mid-October.
Drywall installations are complete up to the sixth floor, while millwork and door installations are progressing on the main floor. Flooring is being installed on the main, second and third levels, as furniture installations are also underway on the main and second floors.
Mechanical and electrical work continues with device and plumbing fixture installations on the first three levels. The final generator tie-in is scheduled for late October. The date for the normal power turn-on for the new wing is expected to be between October 6th and 15th.
Construction of two mock patient rooms is nearing completion, as product installation is ongoing.
Mississauga Renovations
The majority of finishes in the main floor Ultrasound area are complete. The new Ultrasound area will open by mid-October.
Work on the raised roof in the second floor CSOR is now complete. Interior walls and ceiling stud framing, and mechanical and electrical installation work in the walls and above the ceiling is in progress.
A corridor closure on the second floor is underway in order to advance construction of the new Cardiac Surgery Operating Room. The closure is located just outside of the OR entrance and will last approximately six weeks, ending by November 14th.
The corridor closure on the main floor remains underway and is scheduled for completion by the end of October.
West Toronto
The installation of the skylight in the new Urgent Care Centre has been completed. Phase two work is underway in the former UCC with the removal of walls.
Ambulatory Surgical Clinic registration and pre-op new spaces are occupied and in use.
The Trillium Way and new East entrance is open to the public, while exterior landscaping is completed.
