Mississauga New
Wing
One new elevator is now in service in the new inpatient wing. The man hoist will be removed by mid-September, while curtain wall installation will be complete by the end of the month. Boarding walls have progressed to the sixth floor. Work on the ground floor has resumed with mechanical and electrical rough-ins and stud wall installations
Work on the generator replacement continues to move ahead with the expansion of the existing generator building nearing completion. The new generator will be connected mid-Fall.
Mississauga Renovations
Service connections and demolition activities are underway on the ground floor of the hospital.
The main floor Ultrasound area is being completed, as punch lists are being prepared and reviewed by consultants. Medical gas certification for the area has been obtained. Provisions for owner equipment and accessory installations have also been finalized.
A corridor closure on the main floor will occur in mid September for approximately six weeks. This closure is located near the Diagnostic Imaging department. Detours will be in place and temporary signage will be installed.
Roof installation over the second floor CSOR is now complete. Gas columns services have been substantially roughed in and boarding is scheduled for early in the month.
West Toronto
The south entrance vestibule doors are now in place, while hardware is being installed. The electronic whiteboard is now in place at the nursing station in the new Urgent Care Centre. Glazing and waterproofing of the new skylight is ongoing.
The new centralized registration area for ambulatory surgery opened on August 29th. The new east (main) entrance and Trillium Way will open to patients on September 3rd.
