University and College Students
Summer program: Students applying to the Summer Program must be available to volunteer from May to the end of August. Applications are accepted on line, by mail, by fax, or in person starting March 1 to April 16, 4:30pm. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview during the months of April & May.
Year-round Program: All students must be able to volunteer for a minimum of one shift per week from September to the end of April. Applications are accepted online, by mail, by fax, or in person from July 1 to August 15. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview during this time period.
Please complete the following four steps:
Step 1: Print off two reference forms and ask two of your referees to complete. These reference forms must be submitted with your application package. If you are applying online, please submit as soon as possible. Note: family members and friends are not acceptable references.
Step 2: Read the health clearance form and begin the process for completing the proper tests and/or understand what is being asked of you.
Step 3: Proceed to the online application form or download a copy of the application form. Fill out the application form completely.

Tips for Applying to Volunteer at Trillium
- Be specific about the areas you wish to volunteer in. This helps us determine if there is an appropriate fit and opening.
- Ensure your contact information is correct.
- Do you know Trillium offers a free shuttle bus service Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. between Trillium-Mississauga and Trillium-West Toronto? This may be a consideration for you when selecting the location you wish to volunteer.
All Volunteers must attend an Orientation Session to help prepare you for your role. Volunteers will complete service-specific training with a Volunteer Service Leader or designated staff. This includes a tour of key areas, introduction to staff, and a thorough review of your service description and duties. The process takes approximately one month.
